Yearly Blog? #lol
For those of you wondering, we are still alive; we're just terrible at keeping up with writing blog posts. But never mind that, since I'm guessing no one noticed that it's been nearly a full year since we posted anything on our website.
So let's jump in and share what has happened in this past year.
Last summer (2021) we spent some time at my parents cabin for a short vacation. It was great being in the mountains and spending time outdoors with nature. We did a little bit of hiking, fishing and relaxing. The perfect combination of things for the mountain life.
Marzz has been continuing her journey in fighting some medical issues, but she has thus far been kicking ass and winning. Her fight continues but she's been doing great and I'm very proud of her success.
We got to see some concerts now that the Covid restrictions have eased and people are learning more about it. In August we saw Green Day with Fallout Boy and Weezer in San Diego. Then we saw The Rolling Stones at SoFi Stadium here in Los Angeles. That was followed by Andrea Bocelli at the Hollywood Bowl a week later, so we had a fun filled stretch of concerts, all were great shows and we were so glad to have seen the Rolling Stones live.
In November 2021, we spent a little over a week in Orlando Florida where we took some time to explore what the area had to offer outside of Disney but then spent several days in Walt Disney World playing in the parks. We were there during their Christmas season again so we took part in the after hours holiday party, enjoying treats, drinks and entertainment that was only available to the after hours guests. We stay off-property this time for the majority of our stay. This was the first time in all my trips to Florida that we stayed some where other than a Disney resort.
We chose the Hampton Inn near Disney Springs. We enjoyed the place, our room was great. In fact, when I booked it, we were able to choose our specific room. I chose first floor, as to avoid stairs or elevators. Next, I chose near the breakfast area and pool. I felt it was a great location and worked well for our needs. They served a daily morning breakfast which included everything from self-made waffles, cereal, oatmeal, an assortment of meats depending on the day it was sausage, bacon, ham. They had scrambled eggs, various breads, fresh fruits, grab-n-go pre-packed items such as granola bars and muffins. Of course they had coffee, juices and water. Overall, we felt this was a huge value and it was convenient for anyone needing to grab food before starting their day.
Once we returned from Florida, it felt like the remainder of the year flew by and was gone before we knew it. We spent some time in Bakersfield with Marzz's family near Christmas and then spent Christmas at our apartment. We had a small electrical fire Christmas day at an exterior plug. Luckily no damage was done and everyone was safe, but we got to meet some local Burbank Fire fighters. The outlet was repaired a few days later.
For New Years Eve, Marzz and I went to see Katy Perry in Las Vegas at the brand new Resorts World hotel. It was fun show, a packed house and a good way to end the year.
For the first few months of 2022, we've mainly just been focusing on work and trying to move to some place larger. We'll have some updates on this subject soon!
We hope you all have been well and for those tuning in here and reading this, thank you for taking the time. Sorry we've been so inconsistent, but we do have some big life changes in the works, many different things but all tied together that we hope to share soon so stay tuned for more!
