Hey, Howdy, Hey
When one thing gets going right, something else falls by the wayside. At least in my experience. It has once again been some time since we made a blog post, however, we have recently been pretty consistent in making our vlog posts on YouTube. This post is more of a general update on how life is going and what is to come in the near future.
So how is life going?...Life is going well for the most part. Marzz has been struggling with playing phone tag with some of her doctors, as well as just struggling for some of them to receive the referral from the other and setup an appointment for her. My job is ok, the daily tasks are fine, but what I've come to learn is that there is a lot of micro managing which I am not a fan of, so we'll see how that plays out in the future. But I'd say these two things are the main things we may complain about recently, and that's because overall I think things are good.
Just a couple of days ago we celebrated our one year anniversary of our engagement. To mark the occasion, we went to a Meghan Trainor concert at the Hard Rock Casino in Tampa. It was a fun night, we ate at the Hard Rock Cafe, as one does, which was also fun because we were sitting at the bar and I was playing the slot machine that's built-in to the bar top, and I won $95. Minus the $20 I started with, that was a nice profit of $75, which easily paid for dinner. The concert was good. The venue at the Hard Rock is very small, which makes for a fun show.
This month is full of concerts actually. This weekend we will be going to Epcot and checking out their Eat to the Beat concert series on both Saturday and Sunday. If you book a dinner reservation at participating restaurants, you then get a seat at the outdoor amphitheater to watch the bands. On Saturday, Hoobastank is playing and then on Sunday it's Yellowcard. Then the following weekend we'll be going to Punk in the Park at the Orlando fairgrounds to see Alkaline Trio, Dead Kennedy's, The Vandals, Black Flag and more. That should be a really fun day for music and hanging out. It will go rain or shine, so we're really hoping for shine! Then the following week, we'll be going to the Kia Arena in Orlando to see Weezer perform their Blue album in its entirety. So this month is a music month for sure, and we've just begun.
Now as exciting as that all is for us, many of you don't care because you're here to hear about how the wedding planning is coming along. Fair enough.
The wedding planning is coming along fine. Tomorrow we have our first meeting with our official wedding planner and then another meeting the following day with her assistant. Now I know some of you that sounds confusing, because you're thinking, wait...haven't you been talking with Disney for a few months now? Yes. I would love to leave it at just that but I won't be so mean. The way it has been working is we've been talking to whomever is attached to the current step we've been on. For example, the first person was a more blue sky level person, so we talked about what date, time, and venues and approximate guest count. Then the next person we started talking a bit more specific and then we got a hotel room block person and so on. Now we're at the point where all of those people are finished, they've transferred their notes to our new person, Pamela, and her assistant. So from here on out, up through our wedding day, these two will be the people we work with. So that part is nice, makes it a bit more focused.
In fact, my hope is for these first two meetings to really start picking out some of the details, like what are people going to eat? Making sure we have booze. Seeing that we are still within or close to our original budget. All big questions that we hope to have answers to perhaps as early as this week.
I know I've gotten quite a few questions this week alone about wedding stuff. Funny because a good portion of it could have been answered from this website, but we get it, sometimes people just want to talk about it; and that's ok. But it is coming quickly. Monday was not only our one year engagement, but marked six months from our wedding day.
The invitations are being worked on, we're trying to design some of the table decorations and things. People are starting to at least look at hotel stays and flights, some have even booked theirs already. For the wedding party, we're still finalizing a few options for the women, but the men will very soon be able to book their suits and send in their measurements. It should be an exciting next couple of months, hoping things work out how we want them to, or at least close to our vision.
Other than that, life is good. It is still hurricane season, so we may get some storms yet, but so far it's been mild. We do get the afternoon rain showers that Florida is known for, but they have generally been starting around 5pm, and lasting an hour or two. We'll be going to watch Beetlejuice Beetlejuice tomorrow, I hope it's good. The movie scene has been pretty weak lately so we have high hopes for this one.
As always, thanks for reading our blog, even though they're incredibly inconsistent. Check out our YouTube channel if you have time and we would greatly appreciate it if you subscribed, even if you don't watch the videos, subscriptions help our channel grow.
We hope all of you are doing well. Thanks for your support.
