Gave the Date
We continue our journey that is planning our wedding. Another milestone has been crossed this past week as we mailed out 98% of our "Save the Date" cards. The remaining will be mailed once those people provide us with a mailing address.
I'm proud to say we designed these ourselves and I think we created cards that fit our Alice in Wonderland theme well and combined one of our engagement photos. In addition to creating the cards, we also generated a QR code and are using it to provide information to our guests as well as eventually R.S.V.P. via our site.
I know this added step to register on our site and then return for R.S.V.P. etc may be a bit much for some, but hopefully everyone gets through the process okay and I think this will help Marzz and I keep track and communicate useful information. We weren't trying to be modern or anything, just felt it was easier. Hopefully Clark Griswold isn't right on this one (some of you will get this and know the exact quote and some won't. If you missed it, have a fun evening watching National Lampoon's Vacation and you'll understand).
Marzz did all of the addressing on our Cricut machine using the writing function. It was a lot of work and using two fonts made it even more challenging but she did a great job. She also designed the return labels and the sticker on the back.
We used Moo.com to order the cards and envelopes. It was our first time using them. There were two reason we chose them over others with similar products. One, their upload tool was way easier to use and made the process simple. Two, they had a faster turn around time and even offered expedidited shipping if needed. Disclaimer! No, we are in no way affiliated with Moo or their subsidiaries, we are not recieving payment from them or anyone else.
Now that this step in the process is complete, on to the next which is more planning with our Disney Fairytale Wedding team and official wedding invitations should go out in a couple months. So far this has been a good process and we've been able to stay on top of it so not to let it become overwhelming. I hope that trend continues. Until next time, thanks for checking in, and have a wonderful day.
