The Grey Stuff vs. The Grey Stuff
The Grey Stuff from the Red Rose Tavern (Village Haus Restaurant). As you can, when you cut into it, there is red velvet cake with a single raspberry on top, then it is generously covered in the "grey stuff" frosting and sprinkled with candy on top.
Here we have the Grey Stuff from the Be Our Guest restaurant in Walt Disney World Florida. Their version of this dessert is more of a cheesecake with grey stuff on top.
Personally I enjoyed the Grey Stuff from the Red Rose Tavern far more than the one in Florida. The frosting is light and fluffy, very tasty and sweet. You get far more of this from the Disneyland version. Accompanied by the red velvet cake which is moist and delicious. The Disney World version, even though the cheesecake was good, the Grey Stuff was more of an addition rather than the main attraction and the cheesecake over powered the Grey Stuff.
If you haven't tried either, I do recommend it, and if you're visiting Disneyland in Anaheim, CA, I highly recommend stopping by the Red Rose Tavern, grabbing some Grey Stuff, soaking up the decor inside or sitting outside and people watching while you rest your feet and tantalize those taste buds of yours!
